Zombie Blogfest

Kelly Hashway and Beth Fred are hosting the Zombie Blogfest about, you guessed it, ZOMBIES! Participants can post about anything and everything they want that is zombie related, and since it’s Halloween I thought this blogfest would be a great deal of fun.

Kelly Hashway’s Blog: http://kellyhashway.blogspot.com/
Beth Fred’s Blog: http://bethfred.blogspot.com/

What's in it for us?

Everyone will get a FREE copy Kelly Hashway's short story prequel to the Touch of Death series, Curse of Death. In fact, go grab it now here: http://www.spencerhillpress.com/featured_books/curseofdeath.pdf

Plus, US residents can also be entered for a chance to win some zombie limb candy and a signed copy of Touch of Death. (Sorry but international mailing is expensive and mailing candy internationally isn't always allowed.) Sorry, the giveaway is now over!

My favorite zombie movies by far are the Resident Evil movies. I love the action, the story line, the characters, Mila Jovovich as Alice, and the zombies are the best looking in my opinion.

When I was writing the third book in my supernatural-thriller series I watched Resident Evil: Extinction several times. The post-virus world helped me to create my post-war world: demolished and dangerous. There may not be zombies or flesh-eating crows in my book, but there are deserted cities and few surviving humans. The other movie that helped with this, although it's not about zombies, was Terminator Salvation.

Zombie are everywhere and are only gaining in popularity. Even my nephews (seven and five years old) love zombies and have ever since they were able to pronounce the word. And let's not forget my godson who has been a fan of The Walking Dead since he was one year old!

QUESTIONS: Do you like zombies?

What is your favorite zombie movie, book, and/or show?

Zombie me. Eek!

  1. Well, I can't say that I "like" zombies, lol (I mean who does. They eat brains!), but I like zombie movies. My fave is 28 Days Later.

    1. I'm not a huge fan either, but there are certain movies I like. And I am definitely willing to read Kelly Hashway's books! ;) Hmm I've never watched 28 Days Later. . . .

  2. I don't like zombie movies/series all that much (I prefer vampires), but there are some really good ones, like The Night of the Living Dead (the one by Romero, from 1968, the black-and-white made it look like a documentary and therefore extremely creepy) and 28 Days Later. I liked some parts of The Walking Dead (the comic and the series) too.

    1. I also prefer vampires a bit more. Vampires can be sexy. Whereas zombies are just gross. lol

Thank you for your comment, Angel! :)

  4. Thanks for sharing this giveaway, Chrys! I just entered=)
I just started getting into the whole Zombie movement but I've always loved the Resident Evil series. Those are the type of movies that if they are ever on regular TV, I won't change the channel. I also liked World War Z and Warm Bodies. Corny, I know!

    1. Actually, I don't think it's corny at all! I haven't seen it, but I would like to see Warm Bodies. It looks so funny. A nice spin on the normal zombie movie. And World War Z looks really good too!

      You're welcome! :)

  6. Our town just had a 5K Zombie Run! You could sign up as a runner (wearing a ribbon on each side) or a zombie (try to snatch the runners' ribbons). There were also obstacles for the runners to negotiate (and the zombies to hide in/behind). It was a blast!

    1. Oh that sounds like a lot of fun! I think I would want to be a zombie trying to snatch ribbons. ;)

  9. Gosh, Chrys, that's excellent make-up skills! I was telling Kelly few days ago that I don't watch or read much zombie stuff so I can't contribute here. I'll just admire Kelly's book covers ~ they all look so nice, don't they?

  11. I honestly never liked zombie movies or shows (I haven't read a zombie book yet). I did see one as a child and I vowed never to watch one again. Too creepy for me lol Although Resident Evil (I've only seen one) with Mila Jovovich kicking the zombies' a** is an exception hehe :-D

And I'd definitely faint if you show up at my house looking like that! lol

    1. Resident Evil with Mila is my exception too. ;)

lol If anyone came to my house looking like that I'd run. :P
